Never Again

Never again
What’s it mean?
Never again?
Or maybe next year?
Just around the turn of the seasons?
Next month?
Next week?
This week?
Tomorrow?
Tonight?

Right now?

Or maybe what it really means
Is that as soon as you can think of why
A reason it doesn’t count
An excuse, any excuse
To let yourself succumb
You will, and then of course I’ll know
Just what you really mean
When you say
Never again

Ha! A poem!

May 13, 2008 at 3:21 am (Poems) (, , , )

Hey! Under 3 hours and I already have a poem!
Oh, and to be sure, I have ridiculously low standards for posting poetry, but I won’t post anything offensive or just plain bad. Also, if I ever start getting a lot, I may be more judicious.

Submitted by [pdolphin109]:

Cars racing past,
No need to stop and wait.
Blazing through the intersection,
What makes today such an important date?

Children racing past,
Headed to the park across the way.
They want to be us and we want to be them,
We act sophisticated while they run and play.

Life racing past,
Can’t take back what you’ve done.
No way to stop it,
And no way to tell if you have won.

Cars, slow down.
Kids, you don’t want to grow up.
Because life will be complicated,
So savor it while it’s here.
