Swim for Summer Swim League!

OK, so today my swim team (well technically Keegeth’s and mine… OK, so technically Creston’s… but you get the point(e)!) did what can only be described as a Run for the Arts knockoff, but minus prizes. Basically we just swam at our own pace for an hour, then our laps were tallied up and whatever sponsors we got will pay up whatever money they pledged. I personally swam 30 laps (although I stopped when I hit 30, with several minutes to go, and I was swimming sort of lazily…), and with one sponsor (my mom), pledging an admittedly decent amount ($1 a lap), I raised $30 toward furthering our wonderful summer swim league. *gags*. Of course, this event also clearly illuminated those among us (*cough*KEEGAN!*cough*) who are total freaks!!!!!!! An unnamed (KEEGAN) person (KEEGAN) swam (KEEGAN) FORTY-FRICKING-SEVEN (KEEGAN) laps!!!!! That’s 2350 yards, or 1.3352272727272727272727272727273 MILES!!!!!! Freak…
So of course, everyone go congratulate him on his wonderful achievement while I go off into my deep, dark pit of inferiority and drown in the inadequacy while I listen to every speech ever given by President Bush (it would make me want to hurry up and drown already)…

Swim team will kill me!

June 30, 2008 at 6:50 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , )

I am now of the opinion that my swim team coaches have it in for me. I already have two rather nasty (looking) injuries that are a direct result of instructions given by coaches. OK, so one of them was totally my fault, but still! We have dry land exercise every week, and the last two weeks we’ve done what I can only describe as the relay from hell. We start at the bottom of a flight of stairs, sprint up it, sprint across the path at the top of the pool building, then skip down a hill till we get to the far edge of the pool. Here’s where the muscular torture starts: we then have to do full lunge steps for what I guess to be about 35 yards, then sprint back to the start. Needless to say, incredible muscular distress the next day.
But I slipped on the wet hill while I was skipping, and now have a couple of nasty-looking cuts on my leg… And then the wall! The wall of the pool at the swim meet!!! It shanked me!!! Though that one was my fault… Screwed up the flip turn…
Well, that was yet another pretty much pointless post!
